On a chilly Sunday afternoon, I decided to head to Borough Market in search of three plants for some glass hanging vases I recently bought. I was eager for any excuse to visit Borough Market—it’s one of my favorite spots in London to explore. The vases happen to be hard to describe, but once I have them set up in my new flat, I’ll make sure to show them off.
The market visit began simply with browsing through the various fruit and vegetable stalls. While there, I took a quick selfie, which was humorously interrupted by Lloyd, who then joined me for the picture.
As we wandered, we stumbled upon a stall selling hog roast. It took no time at all for me to decide I wanted some. I made my way to the front of the line, and soon I had a delicious hog roast sandwich nestled in crusty ciabatta bread. It was so good that I devoured it quickly, and Lloyd did the same—despite managing to spill some oil on his jeans!
Next, we were on the lookout for a warm drink, preferably mulled wine, but we ended up trying hot cider instead. I was a bit reluctant at first, having never opted for cider over mulled wine, but after tasting it, I was instantly converted. We both enjoyed large cups of the hot cider, which turned out to be surprisingly similar to the mulled wine I usually love.
As we continued exploring the market, the warmth from the hog roast and hot cider kept us comfortable. Then, we unexpectedly ran into Paddington Bear! I was taken aback, as I’m used to seeing him only at Paddington Station. We exchanged a few friendly words, although he politely declined my offer of hot cider since he was rushing off.
Eventually, I made my way home, feeling satisfied, warm, and refreshed after such a pleasant day in London.
