I could use some advice! While on vacation, one of my favorite things to do is taste the local cuisine. I’m a true foodie at heart and get genuinely excited when there’s the promise of new food experiences during my trips. That excitement hit a bump when I encountered Durian Fruit. This fruit is quite the favorite here in Singapore, but I’m feeling a mix of hesitation and curiosity about trying it.
A friend of mine from South Korea, who grew up in Singapore, was the first to suggest I try Durian. He mentioned that his initial experience left him feeling physically sick, although he found it okay afterward. Not the most encouraging introduction! And then there’s the smell – Durian has a notorious odor that can be detected from far away, often compared to ‘sun-warmed garbage.’ The thought of feeling sick isn’t appealing, and the smell doesn’t make it any more enticing, but exploring new experiences is a big part of travel for me, so I’m determined to give it a shot.
Now for the advice part – have you ever tried Durian, or do you know someone who has? If so, what was their experience like? Is there a recommended way to eat it, and if so, how should I go about it? Also, what type should I try, considering there are many varieties? If you have any insights, please share them with me on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, or leave a comment below. Thanks, everyone! 😊😊😊
