After a long early morning flight, the first thing you should do when you arrive at the hotel is grab some food. That’s exactly what we did upon landing in Porto—had to get our priorities straight, right? Haha!
After roaming around for a while, we stumbled upon a restaurant by the waterfront and decided it was time to dig in. The menu looked tempting, the atmosphere was lovely, and the view was stunning, but honestly, what really drew us in were the fantastic wine prices.
It turns out that wine in Porto is quite affordable. This was the first place we visited where the prices were clearly displayed, so we settled down quickly and started enjoying our meal. We both ordered lobster dishes—I went for some kind of lobster pasta. I’m usually not a fan of lobster with pasta (I prefer it with almost anything else!), so it wasn’t my favorite. However, it tasted good, and the starters, rich red wine, and dessert more than made up for it.
After lunch, we headed to the top of the city to take in a breathtaking bird’s-eye view of Porto. The city is a vibrant mix of colors and uniquely designed buildings. I easily embraced the holiday vibes and fell in love with Porto, possibly with a little help from the wine! Since this was my first trip to Portugal, I was thrilled at how quickly I felt at home, making the decision to visit again—this time to Lisbon—an easy one.
