I’m usually not a burger fan, but we’ll get into that later. First, grab a cup of tea (or maybe a margarita) because this is a post with a lot of photos. One of the best things about living in Central London is that I can easily walk to see some amazing sights. This weekend, when my friends came to visit, we decided to explore London on foot.
Lloyd decided to test out his Columbia Turbodown jacket. It’s made with a mix of synthetic material and goose down, which makes it lightweight yet very warm. He kept going on about how warm it is, and I was a bit jealous I wasn’t wearing mine.
Our next stop was the Moomin shop in Covent Garden, don’t ask me why – that’s just where everyone wanted to go.
Covent Garden is always buzzing with street performers, mostly for tourists, but I can’t help taking photos. No matter how many times I see them, it’s fascinating to watch them hover. Even though I know how they do it, it still amazes me.
I got a bit sidetracked and bought myself a new pair of jeans, although they’re so tight I can barely move.
After all that walking, chatting, and shopping, we were hungry, so we decided to grab a bite at Five Guys. It might not be new to everyone, but their food is fantastic! There’s usually a long line, but it moves quickly.
Lloyd couldn’t take his eyes off the food, and that was just while we were still waiting outside!
Once inside, you get free nuts while you choose what to order. Here’s a tip: all the burger toppings are free, so load up! I always get everything except mushrooms. For some reason, I just can’t stand them; to me, they taste like eating dirt.
You order your burger, watch them make it and wrap it, and then eagerly wait for your number to be called. I may have jumped the gun a few times, thinking my order was ready when it wasn’t.
The Cajun fries are a must! They’re not overly spicy, just the right amount of flavor compared to plain salted fries.
That burger is something else! Five Guys is the only place where I get excited about burgers. The portions are huge, which makes me a happy camper whenever I visit. Plus, they have over 100 drink flavors. We once dared ourselves to try as many as possible—definitely not my best idea.
Once we were full, we headed back home. By then, darkness enveloped London, making the city even more vibrant than it was earlier!
And it was quite busy too!
Isn’t London simply stunning at night?
