Lazy days in Ibiza feel almost obligatory. No matter your location on the island or your reason for visiting, there’s always a relaxed daytime vibe (followed by a wild, nearly chaotic energy at night) that’s a complete shift from regular life back home—which is exactly why you’re here, right?
After enjoying a leisurely day filled with cocktails and pool time at Migjorn Ibiza, we decided to revisit a beloved spot—Cala Comte. This beach is stunning during the day, with a collection of great restaurants and bars nearby, but it’s an absolute must-visit for its breathtaking sunsets.
The sun shines brighter from this incredible vantage point, and watching it glow intensely as it sinks below the horizon is truly fantastic! Just be aware—it gets popular with other sunset enthusiasts, so getting there early is wise to snag a good spot.
Once the sunset viewing concluded, we ventured to a promising gem in Ibiza—Mar a Vila restaurant, located in the heart of Ibiza’s old town and well-praised by locals and tourists alike. This place ranked 15 out of 437 on the island, placing it in the top 3%.
Upon arrival, we headed to the covered outdoor area and began with cocktails, quickly followed by a selection of cured meats, cheeses, and a sprinkle of pistachio. I’m a huge fan of Spanish ham!
Our meal started with a wooden box holding a special treat—nut-covered black pudding with two dips. I’ve never been a black pudding fan, but the first bite dispelled my skepticism. It’s a reminder not to judge too quickly—I’m so glad I tried it!
Next, we explored a picnic box. Opting for the tasting menu is fast becoming my favorite choice, thanks to the element of surprise, and our excitement at each new course was akin to kids on Christmas morning eager to see what’s inside.
The picnic box contained thin breads, apple slices, and crisp breads alongside foie and preserves—a perfect combo!
We savored grilled octopus, which I loved so much I sneaked an extra bite from Lloyd’s plate when he wasn’t looking. We continued with crispy crackling and tomatoes in a dip, but my ultimate favorite was miniature lamb kebabs—shredded lamb and tiny bread holders (my name for them) complete with mini veggies.
Taking a brief pre-dessert pause, we enjoyed a palate-cleansing cocktail called a lazy donkey, a Spanish twist on the Russian mule—absolutely perfect and all too easy to sip!
Dessert came in a cocktail-esque form: cake and ice cream topped with fruity and creamy liqueur, followed by mint and vanilla ice cream with chocolate pieces. We had a quick stop for a digestif or two before ending with caramelized nuts, marshmallows, chocolate, and honeycomb.
It was definitely one of my favorite ways to spend an evening in Ibiza!
