Seeing the dolphins and manta rays in their natural habitat was truly amazing. I completely forgot about my lack of sleep from the night before, which was due to my stubbornness about going to bed early and the need to wake up early for the boat ride. The excitement definitely helped keep me awake.
Once we returned to the tranquil island, exhaustion hit me out of nowhere, and the large lunch I had didn’t make it any better. My plan for the day was simply to relax, which I did, spending most of the afternoon with a cocktail in hand before deciding to explore the rest of Maafushivaru.
The island is stunningly beautiful, which isn’t surprising since we’re in the Maldives, but it still takes your breath away. Let me show you around…
Eventually, we made our way back to the pool and cocktail bar, spending the rest of the day there while occasionally signaling for more drinks. That’s the perfect way to enjoy an afternoon here!
Dinner that evening was a bit of a departure from the usual, as we opted for Teppanyaki. We began with some rolls and miso soup before diving into the main course. There were four of us, adding to the intimate atmosphere typical of Teppanyaki restaurants in the Maldives. Our dinner stretched over three hours, filled with laughter, conversation, and drinks, before we headed back to our villas.
The following morning, it was time to leave for the fifth and final island of our Maldives trip. Even though we were excited about the next destination, saying goodbye to the wonderful Maafushivaru island was definitely tough. Maafushivaru is a must-visit on any island-hopping itinerary in the Maldives, whether for its beauty, the friendliness of its people, or the incredible chance to swim with wild manta rays and perhaps even whale sharks throughout the year.
