Sailing at Dusk in the Maldives

We had a fantastic time lounging on a beautiful, white sandy beach, but soon we needed to leave for the dock at Angsana Ihuru Maldives. We had a sunset cruise scheduled that I was really excited about and didn’t want to miss!

On the spacious catamaran, we were the only passengers as we sailed out to enjoy the sunset. The whole experience felt really personal, true to the intimate vibe of Angsana Ihuru. This was a first-time experience for me, and I have to say, it was something special.

Shortly after setting sail, the champagne was popped, and to my delight, our glasses seemed to refill themselves. I was constantly amazed—this wasn’t just any sparkling wine. It was genuine champagne. While I do appreciate prosecco, there’s just something exceptional about having real champagne during a sunset cruise.

I quickly settled into one of my favorite Maldives activities—enjoying the sunset with a drink in hand. To my surprise, a delicious assortment of treats appeared out of nowhere, leaving me squealing with excitement! Thankfully, the champagne started to take hold, so the embarrassment was minimal.

Now, about that sunset—it was simply breathtaking. Local fishermen sailed by, giving waves as they passed. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of the sunset as it seemed to change every minute.

By the time the sun dipped below the horizon, I was feeling the champagne’s effects, which made me love the view even more.

Eventually, we returned home satisfied with the experience, ready for another relaxing evening on the island. Dinner exceeded expectations again, followed by cocktails and dancing.

I went to bed feeling incredibly happy about the day, and waking up the next morning to breathtaking island views only added to my appreciation—along with a quick snorkeling session after breakfast.

Eventually, it was time to say goodbye to everyone on the island. It was hard to leave after such a wonderful time and so many memorable experiences.

But, it was time to head to the next island in the Maldives. We sped toward Male, where a new boat awaited to take us to our next destination. More on that in an upcoming post!
