With so many sights to explore, prioritizing beach time might seem challenging when you’re trying to fit in all the must-see locations. However, I believe it’s essential to have some laid-back days on your trip, and these beautiful beaches offer just that.
Take a look at some of the top beaches to explore while you’re in the USA. Often ranked among the best, Clearwater Beach on Florida’s west coast is a fantastic area to visit. We absolutely loved it for its scenic beauty and the array of bars and restaurants for a refreshing break after a day at the shore. If you prefer a quieter experience, take a boat to Caladesi Island. We spent a day here, and the beaches, along with its trails, are simply stunning. Afterward, head south to St. Pete’s for a more urban vibe. The city boasts a vibrant street art scene, cool bars, and some lovely accommodations.

Moving on, the beaches of Venice and Caspersen are easily some of the best in the USA. Venice Beach is perfect for families, with a dog-friendly section and the opportunity to hunt for prehistoric shark teeth. Don’t miss eating at Sharky’s, right on the beach. For a more tranquil environment, head south to Caspersen Beach, where you can enjoy nature and soak up the sun.
For snorkeling fans, Hanauma Bay in Honolulu is a must-visit. This incredible spot in Hawaii is popular and well-loved for its marine diversity, featuring over 400 species like butterflyfish, sea turtles, and dolphins. You can rent snorkeling gear from nearby stalls and dive right in.
In California, part of the La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve offers a small yet beautiful beach perfect for seal lovers. It can get a bit crowded, but the area is lovely for a short stop during a trip around California. Don’t forget to explore the other amazing beaches in the state.
Near Portland, Oregon, you’ll find a beautiful Pacific Coast beach known as one of the best in the USA. Keep an eye out for Haystack Rock, a famous landmark. This quaint beach is ideal for those seeking tidal pools and exploring the dramatic landscape.
