Taking the perfect selfie is quite a skill. It requires finding the right balance between your face and the background. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll surely have your Facebook friends a tad envious.
But remember, there’s a difference between “your Facebook friends” and “your friends on Facebook.” The latter group won’t hesitate to poke fun at any cringe-worthy selfies. If you’ve been tagging your photos with JourneyOfDiscovery, expect them to humorously remind you of your so-called ‘journey’ when you return from your trip. Wouldn’t Holiday have been a better fit?
Anyway, while I have a few selfie rules of my own, this isn’t about me—it’s about you! I want to know your “One Golden Rule” for taking selfies, along with a picture of your “Best. Selfie. Ever.” Feel free to hashtag it BestSelfieEver!
You can share your best selfie in the Disqus comments below. If that’s a hassle, drop it on our Facebook, share it on Twitter, or use the submit page on Tumblr. Instagram and Pinterest work too—pick your favorite platform!
To start things off, here’s my advice: 1) Prioritize capturing a great background, then pop your face in the corner of the photo. 2) I’m a bit of an overachiever, so I’ve uploaded three BestSelfieEver shots. By the way, feel free to share as many as you like!
