After an early morning flight, the first thing you want to do when you arrive at the hotel is to get some food. That’s exactly what we did when we landed in Porto. Priorities, right? Haha!
After exploring the area a bit, we stumbled upon a restaurant by the waterfront and decided it was time to refuel. The menu looked great, the atmosphere was nice, and the view was stunning, but honestly, what hooked us was the amazing wine prices.
Wine in Porto is generally affordable, which makes sense, but this was the first place we found with clear prices without having to dig through the menu. So, we quickly grabbed some seats and started our meal.
We both chose lobster dishes—I went for a lobster pasta. Typically, I’m not a fan of mixing lobster with pasta, preferring lobster in almost any other way, so it wasn’t my favorite. Despite that, the meal was delicious, and the starters, rich red wine, and dessert really made up for it.
After lunch, we headed to the top of the city to enjoy a fantastic bird’s eye view of Porto. The city is a vibrant mix of colors and uniquely charming buildings. I immediately felt at home during this holiday and fell in love with it—you could say the wine helped with that! Being my first visit to Portugal, I was thrilled at how quickly I adapted, and this made deciding to visit Portugal again, like going to Lisbon, an easy choice!
