Essential Weekend Activities in Paris You Shouldn’t Miss

Paris is an amazing city with so much to discover, from its vibrant markets to the breathtaking views from the Eiffel Tower. You can easily explore many of these attractions over a weekend. The city exudes a magical and adventurous vibe, and being there in person only deepens that feeling. What I love most about Paris is that it offers something for everyone.

To make the most of your weekend, I’ve put together a list of my favorite things to do in Paris. Enjoy your adventure! Known for its rich history, art, culture, architecture, and fashion, Paris has something to please every visitor.

First off, a trip up the Eiffel Tower is a must. Be sure to book your tickets in advance, as they can sell out quickly, especially if you’re planning to go at sunset. Another iconic spot is the Cathédrale Notre-Dame, where you can catch a free organ performance on some evenings.

Also, try to enjoy a quiet evening with some French cinema. French films have a special charm, and with free open-air screenings at Parc de la Villette, it’s a great way to spend a warm summer night accompanied by some snacks and a glass of wine.

Paris is a shopping paradise, offering everything from high fashion to local art and vintage finds. If you’re a bargain hunter, take advantage of the seasonal sales at famous spots like Galleries Lafayette, especially in late summer. For vintage treasures, check out the Bouquinistes along the quayside. These stalls offer a wide range of items, including vintage postcards that carry a slice of history.

Though I’m not a big fan of macarons, I can’t resist trying them in Paris. My top pick would be Pierre Herme for their delightful macarons, perfect if you have a macaron craving.

Dining on the Champs-Elysées near the Arc De Triomphe is a dream for many, but keep in mind it’s a popular tourist area, meaning prices are higher. Look for online deals before you go, saving money that can be spent on visiting one of Paris’ many museums and galleries.

Finding where to stay can be overwhelming with so many options. For a unique experience, consider Hotel Le Bellechasse, designed by Christian Lacroix, offering stylish rooms in the heart of Paris for around £100 per night.

If you prefer a more home-like feel, renting an apartment might be perfect for you. It allows you to cook your meals and enjoy stunning views, making your trip to Paris feel like living there.
